As I meditated on this, I thought, how do I forget? Consider Paul’s life, he did some pretty bad things! He persecuted Christians and was an enemy of the cross of Jesus Christ. And yet he wrote scriptures such as, “...open your hearts to us. On BreakPoint, I talked about a Christian ethic of hope — a hope not based on wishful thinking, but on the reality of God’s promises. It’s this Christian hope that gives us the joy, the self-sacrificial love, the boldness, and the endurance to carry on — even in tough times. It was small enough to overlook. Only two words. I know I’d read that passage a hundred times. But I’d never seen it.
But I won’t miss it again. It’s highlighted in yellow and underlined in red. You might want to do the same. Look in Mark, chapter 16.

LuAnne was a prisoner of the “once-you’ve-beens.” She was so shackled by yesterday’s painful experiences that she could scarcely hobble through today.
One lunch she and I were in the employees’ lounge looking out at a busy intersection.

Next list the adverse things you experienced during the year. “In the day of prosperity be joyful. In the day of adversity consider... ”

EL CAJON, Calif. (BP)- God loves to do astounding things. Most of the time, they are in response to the prayers of His people. Throughout my years as a pastor, a number of people have come to me for counsel on how to find the direction God has set forward for their life. I have to admit, my straightforwardness is not lacking in my response to them: "Have you prayed about it?"
